TAMESIDEGLOSSOP

Assisted Veterinary Treatment Scheme

This scheme is operated to prevent the unnecessary suffering of animals in need of urgent veterinary attention.

If your animal is in need of medical treatment you MUST get help.
Take it to your nearest veterinary surgery
or call their out of hours telephone number
which can be found in the "Yellow Pages" or your telephone book.
Alternatively, click on the VETLIST image below for a list of local surgeries.

People in living in the Tameside area, and in receipt of means-tested benefits,
are asked to take their animals to:
The R.S.P.C.A.'s Greater Manchester Animal Hospital,
411 Eccles New Road, Salford M5 2NN (Tel: 0161 737 6737)

if at all possible.

People living in the Glossop area are NOT in the Hospital's catchment area and are
therefore asked to contact a local veterinary surgeon to find out if the practice takes part
in the scheme before booking an appointment

In association with local veterinary surgeons the branch is able to offer financial assistance to people on means-tested benefits.
Due to pressures on limited branch funds we are only able to offer help on bills over £40.00 to people in receipt of the following benefits:

Job Seekers' Allowance
Housing Benefit
Income Support

If your animal is in need of emergency treatment by a veterinary surgeon and you are receiving any of the above benefits and live in Tameside or Glossop contact your local veterinary surgeon to ask if they participate in our scheme and arrange an appointment.

Please remember you will need to show proof you are in receipt of benefit.

Some private veterinary surgeons are members of the veterinary voucher scheme. Animal owners
are able to purchase vouchers (similar to TV License Stamps) towards the cost of treatment or neutering from participating surgeries. They also make good gifts for birthdays or Christmas!!
